Objectives of Alpha IICH

Alpha IICH Inc. was incorporated in 2001 to build a business around the production and marketing of alpha emitting radionuclides for cancer therapy. Its name reflects not only its focus—Alpha Emitters—but also its solid roots in the established radiochemical business of IICH (the International Isotope Clearing House) that has been operating in the U.S. for ten years. The other founding party of Alpha IICHisoSolutions Inc.—brings to the venture 28 years of experience in the nuclear medicine markets of North America and Europe.

Alpha IICH has been developed as a business for the production, marketing and distribution of alpha-emitting radioisotope products; has established contacts with producers in Russia, North America and Europe, with users of such alpha-emitting radioisotopes throughout the world; and also has established contacts with potential financial investors in the alpha-emitting radioisotope business.

Currently Alpha IICH is evaluating business opportunities associated with the production and marketing of alpha emitting radionuclides such as Ac-225, At-211, Bi-212, Bi-213, Ra-223 and Ra-224 for cancer therapy as well as fighting fungal and other infections.

Due to the increasing interest in alpha-emitting isotopes and the limited supply based exclusively on the extraction of Th-229 from Uranium-233, Alpha IICH is eager to develop a broad range of sources of supply for alpha-emitters as well as a broader range of such isotopes.

Realizing that a larger market can be created only by providing larger amounts of alpha-emitting isotopes and at lower prices, Alpha-IICH wants initially to achieve its first objective.

First objective

Expedite and maxmize production

First objective: expedite and maximize the production of Ac-225 from existing Russian supplies extracted from Th-229.

Alpha IICH has succeeded in negotiating an agreement with a Russian institute with existing technology for extracting Ac-225 and has distributed evaluation samples to prestigious laboratories in the United States and Europe. Based on the positive results from these analyses, an ongoing supply agreement with the Russian institute is now in place.

Second objective

Identify and support new production technologies

The second objective of Alpha IICH is to identify and support novel technologies for the production of Ac-225 from precursors other than Th-229, via bombardment with reactors or accelerators of various economically available target isotopes. Alpha IICH believes that the development of these technologies would ensure the availability of larger amounts of Ac-225 and a larger variety of other alpha-emitting radioisotopes with medical applications.

The pre-seed activities of Alpha IICH have been going on for the last six years during which time it established contacts with producers in Russia, North America and Europe, with novel developers of new processes for the production of Alpha Emitters and with users of such alpha-emitting radioisotopes throughout the world.
